Unique concept reveiled

One of my mentors is Tail Lopez, a successful internet entrepreneur.  He taught me this great insight: “We learn from our mistakes. But who said it had to be our own mistakes?”

See, that’s where ‘knowledge from others’ comes from. Books, teachers, parents, mentors, they all have one thing in common: they made the mistakes you can learn from.

Books is the easiest one. Read. A lot. You are able to learn from all the great minds in the world. Pretty much for free. Or at least at a minimum of expenses. Now, reading is already been taken care of, let’s take a look at the concept op mentors.

A mentor is someone who is where you want to be. In particularly your personal development, growth, or whatever you call it. He or she can teach you the lessons they learned. And now with the internet you can pretty much have any one as a mentor.

The best mentors though, are the ones you meet in real person, not via internet. You can see how they walk, how they talk, and how they act. How do they respond to the waitress, how do they act with you around. But then the question rizes: how do you find yourself a mentor?

You need to know that anyone can be a mentor to you. As long as they can learn you something. As long as they been where you are and are where you want to be.

Still, how do you find someone like that? Easy. Come to the Speed mentoring event. On April 13th there will be a new event where you can easily find yourself a mentor.

Speed Mentoring is taking 5 mentors of different professional areas to coach and advise the participants. With a collaborative set-up, the event will provide the participants a chance to interact directly with the mentors. So you will be able to see how they act, how they walk and how they talk.

Join us at this unique event on April 13th. Just check the facebook page for more details.

Take this easy opportunity to find yourself a mentor. And start learning from our mistakes. I guarantee they were terrible mistakes, so lot to learn for you!

Getting your shit together

We all have those moments in our lives. Where you know that things just aren’t right. It can be in your love life, a situation at work, feeling too busy because you have to run a household and do a job and have to run for errands every single day… whatever it is, you know you ‘ain’t got your shit together’ at the moment.

Don’t you hate that?

I do. So I figured I need to do something with that.  Those things will just keep Lees meer >>

The Day After

A day after the best day of this year (it hasn’t been my birthday yet!), things are starting to sink in. I was talking about abundance yesterday. And that still holds in some way. But there is also something else that I realized.

The whole motto of TED events are ‘sharing ideas worth spreading’ and that is exactly what happened. But not only for the event itself with all the great speakers, it also was happening in all the hours after the event.

Having the
pleasure to make this trip with two great men and friends of mine, Johann and Lawrence, initiator of the TEDx event and another speaker at the same event, we get to talk a lot with each other.

At the dinner and after-party yesterday with everyone of the crew, volunteers, coordinators, speakers, sponsors, we were all talking about Lees meer >>

TEDx is full of abundance

To describe today in one word would be: abundance.

Abundance in impressions, inspiration, positive energy, positive feedback, new friends, absorbed free time, dedication, fulfillment, adrenaline and finally: food, wine and beer.

That pretty much sums it up.

I need to send my compliments to the organization of the event, build on the work of so many volunteers. They put so much work in the event and they totally nailed it. It went as smooth as a baby’s bum.

So being the last speaker of the day I realized during the day I had an interesting task ahead. How to get the public engaged at this hour, after Lees meer >>

TEDx Transylvania

“Talking on a TED event is something special. Having been on stages for pretty much all my life in different ways, there are a couple of performances that were still on my bucket list. Royal Albert Hall, Carré (Amsterdam),  TED Talk.” – Maurice Zondag

So that’s a big ‘CHECK’ on that last one now. Never could have imagined it being an international event too. ‘DOUBLE CHECK’!

TEDx Târgu Mures in Transylvania, Romania is the event. How freakin’ awesome.

Prepping for the TED talk

It’s getting close now. Only a couple of days left to fly off to Romania and visit the town of Targu Mures where they will be organizing a TEDx event again.

I’ve received valuable feedback from some of my inner circle friends, that I have implemented in the latest version of the talk. Tomorrow we will hold a practice session, as an open rehearsal – as we like to call it in the theater world – at Lawrence’s place. Around 15 to 20 people will be there to hear our pre-TED talks for the first time in public. A tryout that is always interesting to receive feedback.

Please don’t chop our heads off okay?

Invited to talk at TEDx Targu Mures!

Wow. This is a great announcement I can make. You know there are a couple of things you just want to check of your bucketlist right? For me, I already had a couple of items checked off.  Like racing at Spa Francorchamps or performing at a national theater. But this was certainly on there as well. And now comes the chance to check this one off too. Speaking at a TED conference.

I was invited by the organizer Johann Stan, who I met last year at a Samurai Game, facilitated by my good friend and former Aikido Sensei Lawrence Warry. We talked some time, had a couple of drinks and talked some more, and we met again at a Samurai Game last year November. After Lawrence was Lees meer >>

Blogging the old fashioned way

I decided to add the blogging feature to my site. I got things to tell you sometimes, that I’d like to write down. Some more in-depth info that I don’t want to share on my social media, but just for you, my visitor here.

As a personality coach I have stories to share about the beauty of the job where I help people find the best version of themselves. I’m sure you will find it interesting.

I will give you a behind the scenes view of my public speaking events, where Lees meer >>
