TEDx is full of abundance

To describe today in one word would be: abundance.

Abundance in impressions, inspiration, positive energy, positive feedback, new friends, absorbed free time, dedication, fulfillment, adrenaline and finally: food, wine and beer.

That pretty much sums it up.

I need to send my compliments to the organization of the event, build on the work of so many volunteers. They put so much work in the event and they totally nailed it. It went as smooth as a baby’s bum.

So being the last speaker of the day I realized during the day I had an interesting task ahead. How to get the public engaged at this hour, after already seeing so much, and I mean, really so much great, inspiring talks from my colleagues. I knew I had to change the beginning of my talk, to get people warmed up again, awake and in the moment. So I did what I do best. I improvised. And it worked. Smoothly I transitioned into my rehearsed talk. Of course, it didn’t go exactly like I rehearsed, but that’s part of the process.

Using the energy of the audience to get the message across. And it worked. Even had a standing ovation at the end. That is always a very thankful moment.

Speaking at events like this is very thankful. It always is. The thing that stood out here was the energy and friendships that were built. We all worked for this result, all did ‘our’ thing and as a team we nailed it. I wasn’t a guest just doing his mojo, but I was part of a tribe that put out a performance. From perfect preparation to a perfect show, without one practice as a whole. Just by the fact, everybody knew what was expected from him or her and fully committed to that. That’s a showcase for good teamwork and good leadership. So my deep bow to the whole team. They made this dream come true.

So like I said yesterday: TED talk: Check! Where can I sign up for the next one?

With great appreciation and full of adrenaline (yes, still) I greet you.

Romania, Targu Mures, the team of TEDxTarguMures, thank you, so much. I’m proud I was part of this year’s team as a speaker and that you crossed my path in life. I’ll cherish this for the rest of my life.

– Maurice
